Calculate optimal EV charging cable cross-sections, voltage drop, and breaker protection compliant with Belgian AREI (RGIE) and IEC 60364-7-722.
Compliant with Belgian AREI & IEC 60364-7-722
Step-by-step guide to calculating EV charging cable sizes compliant with AREI / RGIE and IEC 60364-7-722.
Click a Quick Preset (e.g. 11 kW 3-Phase or 7.4 kW 1-Phase) or choose Power (kW) vs. Current (A) mode to enter custom EVSE parameters.
Select your electrical grid type (3-Phase 400V, 1-Phase 230V, or Belgian 3x230V Delta) and cable insulation (XVB standard, halogen-free XGB, or direct-burial EXVB).
Choose the AREI installation method (in insulated wall, masonry conduit, surface clipped, cable tray, or underground trench) and enter total route length in meters.
Configure upstream breaker curve (Curve C recommended for EV) and rating. Review continuous load current (IB), cable capacity (Iz), voltage drop (ΔV ≤ 3%), and short-circuit trip coordination (Ik).
Click "Download Sizing PDF Report" at the bottom of the results to generate a compliant calculation sheet for AREI inspection dossiers.
